No tricks, no buried clauses. Here's how Chas'up works, what you're agreeing to, and exactly what happens to your data.
The short version: your customers' details stay on your phone and your own iCloud. We don't collect them, we can't see them, and we never sell them. Here's the detail.
The quotes you add — customer name, phone or email, job, amount and any notes — are saved in a database on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, that database is backed up to your own private iCloud (Apple's CloudKit). We have no access to your iCloud or its contents.
We use Sign in with Apple to set up your account. We store the anonymous identifier Apple gives us on your device. If you choose to hide your email, we never see it.
We only look at your contacts when you tap "Add from Contacts", and only to copy a name and number into a quote on your device. We never upload or store your contacts list.
By default Chas'up collects no analytics about you. If we ever turn on product analytics it will be anonymous usage only (for example "a quote was added") and never your customers' details. Apple also gives us aggregated, anonymous App Store statistics.
This website (separate from the app) uses cookies for analytics and, if we run ad campaigns, advertising — but only with your consent. On your first visit a banner lets you accept or reject; nothing non-essential loads until you opt in, and you can change your mind any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. With your consent we use Google Analytics (cookies _ga, _ga_*) to understand site traffic, and the Meta pixel (cookie _fbp) to measure how our ads perform. Your consent choice itself is stored locally in your browser. Reject everything and only the strictly-necessary basics remain.
When you send a chase, Chas'up just opens WhatsApp, Messages, Mail or your phone with the text ready. What happens after that is covered by those apps' and your network's own policies.
Because the data lives with you, you are the data controller for your customers' information under UK GDPR. Please contact your customers lawfully and respect any request they make.
You can delete everything on your device any time in You → Delete all my data. Your iCloud backup is managed in your Apple ID settings.
Chas'up is a business tool and isn't aimed at children. We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
